Vegetarian People

These great intellectual vegetarians belong to different religions, such as:

Pythagoras,
Plato,
Leo Tolstoy,
Mahatma Gandhi,
Albert Einstein,
George Bernard Shaw,
Nikola Tesla,
Shopenhauer,
Thoreau,
Leonardo Da Vinci,
Voltaire etcetera.

They knew there could be no spiritual advancement while attaining ones nourishment from cruelty and the exploitation of others.

Albert Einstein said:
"Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet."

Leonardo DaVinci:
"I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men." DaVinci claimed that flesh eaters were using their bodies as "grave yards."

Charles Darwin:
"The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man."

Thomas Edison:
"Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages."

George Bernard Shaw:
"We pray on Sundays that we may have light to guide our footsteps on the path we tread; We are sick of war we don't want to fight. And yet we gorge ourselves upon the dead."

Percy Bysshe Shelley:
"Let the advocate of animal food force himself to a decisive experiment on its fitness, and as Plutarch recommends, tear a living lamb with his teeth and, plunging his head into its vitals slake his thirst with the steaming blood."

Henry David Thoreau (1817-62), U.S. philosopher, author, naturalist. Walden, "Economy" (1854):
One farmer says to me, "You cannot live on vegetable food solely, for it furnishes nothing to make bones with"; and so he religiously devotes a part of his day to supplying his system with the raw material of bones; walking all the while he talks behind his oxen, which, with vegetable-made bones, jerk him and his lumbering plow along in spite of every obstacle.

Henry David Thoreau:
I have no doubt that it is a part of the destiny of the human race, in its gradual improvement, to leave off eating animals, as surely as the savage tribes have left off eating each other when they came in contact with the more civilized.

Mark Twain:
It is just like man's vanity and impertinence to call an animal dumb because it is dumb to his dull perceptions.

Benjamin Franklin:
Flesh eating is "unprovoked murder." On the subject of vegetarianism, Franklin noted that one will achieve "greater progress, from the greater clearness of head and quicker comprehension."

Thomas A Edison, 1847-1931:
"The Doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease."

Francis of Assisi:
"Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission-to be of service to them wherever they require it."

Mahatma Gandhi:
"To my mind the life of a lamb is no less precious than that of a human being. I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man."

Abraham Lincoln:
"I am in favor of animal rights as well as human rights. That is the way of a whole human being."
-
Thomas Paine:
"Everything of persecution and revenge between man and man, and everything of cruelty to animals, is a violation of moral duty."
-
Henry Salt:
"The emancipation of men from cruelty and injustice will bring with it in due course the emancipation of animals also. The two reforms are inseparably connected, and neither can be fully realized alone."
-
Albert Schweitzer:
"the time is coming when people will be amazed that the human race existed so long before it recognized that thoughtless injury to life is incompatible with real ethics. Ethics is in its unqualified form extended responsibility to everything that has life."

George Bernard Shaw:
"Vivisection is a social evil because if it advances human knowledge, it does so at the expense of human character."
-
Leo Tolstoy:
"If a man aspires towards a righteous life, his first act of abstinence is from injury to animals."
-
Alice Walker:
"The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for whites, or women created for men."
-
President Abraham Lincoln:
I care not for a man's religion whose dog and cat are not the better for it.
-
Pythagoras:
Animals share with us the privilege of having a soul.

The earth affords a lavish supply of richness of innocent foods, and offers you banquets that involve no bloodshed or slaughter; only beasts satisfy their hunger with flesh, and not even all of those, because horses, cattle, and sheep live on grass.
-
George Bernard Shaw:
A man of my spiritual intensity does not eat corpses.

All great truths begin as blasphemies.

Animals are my friends; I don't eat my friends.
-
John Robbins (p. 49 Diet for a New America):
Our understanding of what constitutes intelligence is utterly relative. If an aborigine drafted an I.Q. test, for example, all of Western civilization would probably flunk. We have a very convenient and self-serving way of defining intelligence. If an animal does something, we call it instinct. If we do the same thing for the same reason, we call it intelligence.
"I was a cannibal for twenty-five years. For the rest I have been a vegetarian." ~ George

Bernard Shaw:
In addition to his writings on non-violence, Leo Tolstoy's advocacy of vegetarianism led to his friendship with Mohandas Gandhi. He wrote several essays about vegetarianism, but perhaps never more compellingly than when he said:
"flesh eating is simply immoral, as it involves the performance of an act, which is contrary to moral feeling: killing."
-
Nikola Tesla was a humanitarian who loved animals. He argued that animal slaughter was “wanton and cruel” and eventually became a vegetarian.
-
Voltaire was an advocate of civil rights and freedom. He also believed in the virtues of vegetarianism. He once wrote that "men fed upon carnage, and drinking strong drinks, have all an impoisoned and arid blood which drives them mad in a hundred different ways." This sounds like an early precursor of the phrase "you are what you eat."

Breathing Exercise

Here is a beautiful meditation exercise you can try.

(1) Close your eyes.
Keeping a smiling face and say to yourself in your mind "let me heal myself with joy".
-
(2) Either standing or sitting. ( standing is beneficial )
Keep your spine ( back bone ) straight like a bow,
And keep your shoulders pushed backwards and upwards.
Concentrate between your eyes on your forehead as if viewing a far away sight of stars in the dark sky. Do not strain your eyes.
-
(3) Slowly inhale, relaxing the stomach muscles ( abdomen ).
After inhalation stop (hold) breathing for 5 seconds and concentrate on the relaxed muscles.
-
(4) Then slowly exhale saying "O" ( English alphabet ) with tension contracting stomach muscles (abdomen).
After exhalation stop (hold) breathing for 5 seconds and concentrate on the tensed muscles. If not in privacy you can mentally say "O" silently.
-
While doing this exercise feel the happiness and joy within your mind, and keep a smiling face. Do not lose the concentration of the stars in the dark sky. This is a healing exercise.

Slow music and mild perfumes can be used.

It can be done for 5 minutes every hour. It can be repeated also. It can also be done for 30 minutes or longer if comfortable.
-
I could notice that. By controlling my breathing. By holding or stoping my breathing. I could see that, I am trying to go against my body and mind requirements and needs. After stoping breathing for a certain time my body and mind requests for air to breathe. But when I forcibly extended stopping the breathing will increase the will power (strengthen) to achieve my own desire to go against my own body and mind.

Another thing I noticed was that when my body and mind requests for air to breathe in wards to attain  consciousness, as stopping breathing will lead to unconsciousness. I started differentiating between unconsciousness and consciousness. Thus understanding of consciousness to control and improve it.

When I breathe inside fully, completely, and hold or stop it, after sometime I could feel that all the air inside was consumed, and exhaust of air breathing outside was reduced comparitively. When I breathe outside, empty completely, and hold or stop breathing, it creates unconsciousness. A state of different experience.

I think this strengthening of will power will affect in creation of our destiny. I become more focused to achieve my desire, goals or objectives. Practicing for a longer period of time, few years, will enhance the will power naturally.

Why to meditate.

Seeking for joy.

Farmland Mind, Body, Connection.

Below is my explanation to the question. Why I want to purchase a farm land at a cheaper price? My intention is to live a happy life.

I never had a permanent job employment.  I worked on contract basis. At lower income. I worked for few months or years and after that I was again searching for a new job.

I did not have sufficient savings. I was unsecured financially.  I could not purchase land or property.

I had to pay house rent and living expenses when I had no income.  This further reduced my savings.

Thus I thought of purchasing a small piece of farmland ( one acre or half acre ) in the village, at a cheaper price.  So that I can live there when I had no income. To avoid paying house rent, to reduce my living expenses.

Healing brings happiness. It's in living simple life. It's simple to understand life. In other words. Simple things are easy to understand.

Happiness is possible when there is less confusion. With lower fear. With reduced complications.

Complex analysis is painful for our mind to understand. Simple thought is without comlicated logic. Simple understanding is not complex. Easily understandable is called as simple.

Life is simple if we realise basic necessary ingredients to live a happy life. In other words. How to survive happily without fear of income, with minimal pain. Eliminating physical and mental pain, suffering. Creating peace generates healing.

In simple understanding terms. Survival means taking care of our BODY and our MIND to live with joy and good health.

First one is body.
(1).
To take care of our BODY healthy food is obtained by growing our own vegetables and groceries to reduce the expenses. Also Practice yoga and excercise for healthy body.

Second one is mind.
(2).
To take care of our MIND to live happily. Practice meditation for calmness and happiness. This is an IDEA to live a happy life without INCOME.

I will be happy to live in a peaceful farm land With minimum expenses.

This will also save me from paying rent even when I have lower income.

Loving oneself is the first step towards healing.

Sound Mind rests in a healthy Body.

Healthy body helps live a happy life.

Practice brings perfection in strength.

Persistence and Motivation towards Peace.

Creating oneself is the first step towards Perfection.

Mind, Body & Soul,
They are inter-connected.

Happy Mind in a Healthy Body.
Peaceful Soul in a Humble Mind.

Mind – Relaxation & Meditation.
Body – Food & Exercise.
Soul – Humble Purpose.

All Three Must be Balanced.

(1) Mind –
Control Desires & Thoughts towards Peace and Happiness.
Avoid Anger, Greed & Wickedness.
Develop Compassion & Brotherhood.

(2) Body –
Control Food & Diet,
Control Muscles towards Strength and Happiness.
Eat to Live, Do Not Live to Eat.
Heal Muscles with Yoga Concentration.

(3) Soul –
Heal Subconscious using the Consciousness,
with Noble and Humble Objective.
Purpose to Heal Humanity & Mankind.

Does money gives happiness.

We believe that we can get blessings by doing good things in our lives. Fruits of our actions, called as karma.

On one hand, justice system is critical for a better nation. Providing law and order to citizens. It's important for citizens to be patriotic, to be caring, helpful and kind to others. With a commitment and passion to provide justice. At the same time there are people who are misusing the power of law, to manipulate with the justice system. Recently I was betrayed by an advocate, who is supposed to provide justice to others by profession.

Advocate Mr Kunal Sharma has betrayed me. This person who is supposed to provide justice is doing injustice himself. Such people are a curse to this great nation.

Benefits of meditation.

Finding peace and stillness within ourself is CRUCIAL to our bodies health.

90% of all diseases and illnesses are either caused or aggravated by stress.
Meditation is a great way to restore balance in our body naturally.

Benefits of  Meditation are:
Blood pressure is controlled.
Health problems stop.
Mind becomes clear.
Intuition develops.
Obstacles are removed.
Creates mental peace, and happiness.
Negative influences due to planets will be removed.
Problem becomes small before coming to us. There are plenty of other benefits.

By meditation we can concentrate on our various body muscles to heal and control them to create a healthy shaped body.

The significance of the breath in meditation is that. Breathing is normally an unconscious process.

The breath is the link between the body, mind and spirit. When the mind is free of fear, guilt and anger, and is more centered, then it can heal the system of any ailment.

Observing breathing improves the concentration power. Through the practice of breathing techniques, we can learn to consciously govern the breath. So that it brings harmony into our body, mind and spirit.

Meditation is healing oneself, listening within oneself, to find solutions within oneself. Self healing is possible with self realization.

Realizing ones own purpose of life. Every one has a certain constructive purpose, to be achieved, by utilizing the talents embedded within.

Giving constructive contribution to ones own life, to provide happiness to oneself.

When we realize our noble purpose of life to serve humanity, we will get answers to all our questions, what do I want? where am I going? what am I not happy with? what do I love? what do I want to be? and many more.

Ask questions to our-self and we will get answers within our-self.

You got to be thirsty within, to win, thirsty to succeed.

If you don't make your own decisions somebody else will make those decisions for your life.

We must not criticize our-self by comparing with others. We must not criticize others also. But wisdom is to compare with our-self and to improve over-self.

Being Jealous is destructive, never be jealous at those who are better than you, instead love and respect them, learn good things from them, make them your best friend. Like a Honey Bee, take what ever is good for you.

Meditation is scientifically proven to:

- Overcome stress (University of Massachusetts Medical School, 2003)

- Boost our creativity (ScienceDaily, 2010)

- Improve our sex life and increase our libido (The Journal of Sexual Medicine, 2009)

- Cultivate healthy habits that lead to weight loss (Journal Emotion, 2007)

- Improve digestion and lower blood pressure (Harvard Medical School)

- Decrease our risk of heart attack (The Stroke Journal, 2009)

- Help overcome anxiety, depression, anger and confusion (Psychosomatic Medicine, 2009)

- Decrease perception of pain and improve cognitive processing (Wake Forest University School of Medicine, 2010)

- Increase our focus and attention (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2007)

- Increase the size of our brain. (Harvard University Gazette, 2006)

By training in meditation, we create an inner space and clarity that enables us to control our mind regardless of the external circumstances. Gradually we develop mental equilibrium, a balanced mind that is happy all the time, rather than an unbalanced mind that oscillates between the extremes of excitement and despondency.

If we train in meditation systematically, eventually we will be able to eradicate from our mind the delusions that are the causes of all our problems and suffering. In this way, we will come to experience a permanent inner peace, known as “liberation” or “nirvana”. Then, day and night in life after life, we will experience only peace and happiness.

Usually we find it difficult to control our mind. It seems as if our mind is like a balloon in the wind – blown here and there by external circumstances. If things go well, our mind is happy, but if they go badly, it immediately becomes unhappy.

The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness.

If we train in meditation, our mind will gradually become more peaceful, and we will experience a purer form of happiness. Eventually, we will be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most
difficult circumstances.

We humans consist of energy. Materialized energy. We emit different frequencies from different states of being. Our mood, our beliefs and thoughts. Our alignment with truth. All of this makes up our energy
signature.

Brain activity can be measured with an EEG and when we practice meditation we can learn to enter different states. Generating different frequencies in the brain. Our brain waves differ all the time. When we sleep, when we learn, and when we are joyful.

Significance of the breath at meditation: Breathing is normally an unconscious process. The breath is the link between the body, mind and spirit. When the mind is free of fear, guilt and anger, and is more centered, then it can heal the system of any ailment. Through the practice of our breathing techniques, we can learn to consciously govern the breath so that it brings harmony into your body, mind and spirit.

Body: Vegetarian is Spiritual Healthy: Food, Exercise, Diet, Control Muscles, Healing

Being Vegetarian is much spiritual and healthy. Human digestive system is not designed to consume meat food. It is very rare to see human beings eating uncooked raw flesh. It is difficult for human system to digest raw meat.

It can be quite often observed that people who eat meat are much aggressive and arrogant compared to vegetarians. More over, why eat meat when nature has already provided us with such delicious fruits and nutritious vegetables and food grains.

It is always better idea to stick to basic necessities to impart good health.
There is a saying,
"Eat to live and NOT live to eat".

One must control ones physic with intelligence and wisdom. One must eat to provide the necessary energy. Over eating too much will lead to health problems as well.

Vegetarian animals have been helping humans , for example cow, goat, horse, elephant, camel, etc.
Vegetarian animal Elephant has a huge and strong body. Horse has a strong body. These have constructive, peaceful and calm behavior thinking minds along with strong physical body strength.

Vegetarian animals are humble and gentle.
Non vegetarian animals are wild and arrogant.

If we compare the human teeth structure with other vegetarian animals like , cow, camel, deer, horse, etc. We can notice they are similar to humans.

Where as non vegetarian meat eating animals like , tigers, dogs, cats, etc. The teeth structure is not similar as humans.

It is also not advisable to consume too spicy, foods with chilies, oil and masala. A little bit of it just for taste if needed will be fine. Food intake directly influences mental attitude and thinking capabilities. Too much of raw chili, onion, garlic, etc will create destructive vibrations, like anger, hatred, frustration, etc which will make a person fickle. It can also influence in formation of intestinal ulcers. On the other hand meals like Milk, Fruits, Green Vegetables, salads, cereals, baked products, whole grains, germinated grains, etc will definitely help improve appetite and immunity levels. In fact vegetarian foods have more protein values compared to the other.

We usually tend to learn by looking at others, by inspirations. Some of them may feel good to consume meat by looking at history, of how ancient civilizations were hunting to satisfy their hunger, by looking at how they gave respect to their food. How the ancestors would have been thankful for the food to sustain their lives. But the reality remains that, they had nothing else to eat other than meat, at that time, and at that situation.

In today's modern world, we have supermarkets to provide vegetables, grains, fruits, etc. Thus we have no need to kill any animal to satisfy hunger. There is plenty of vegetarian food available without any meat. Medically it is also proved that balanced vegetarian diet is much healthier for the body than eating meat. As researches show that our human body system is not made to digest meat. It is also proved that, there is enough food grains to feed the entire world, if people would avoid eating meat, thus meat production would come down.

Yoga and Food, are inter-connected.

When diet is wrong medicine is of no use.
When diet is correct medicine is of no need. ~Ayurvedic Proverb

Practicing Yoga is one of the most beneficial regimes, but when complemented with the right food, it can really create wonders. In fact, eating the right food is an essential part of living a Yogic life.

What we eat, not only influences our physical well being, but also our emotions and thoughts. Yoga, does not dissect food into proteins, carbohydrates or fats, instead it classifies them according to the effect they have on the body and mind, into three types – satva, rajas and tamas.

Tamasic food is the kind of food which makes us lethargic or sluggish,
while Rajasic food is that which brings about hyper-activity or restlessness.
Whereas, Sattvic food is the kind which makes you feel light, energetic and enthusiastic.

SATVIC FOOD:
Sattvic foods are those which purify the body and calm the mind
They stimulate the body and mind into action.
Cooked food that is consumed within 3-4 hours can be considered sattvic.
Examples - Fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables, nuts, grains, fresh milk , certain spices.
(In excess, these foods can cause hyperactivity, restlessness, anger, irritability, and sleeplessness)

RAJASIC FOOD:
Overly tasty foods are Rajasic. Stale or reheated food, oily or heavy food and food containing artificial preservatives fall under this category.
Examples – Spicy food, onion, garlic, tea, coffee, fried food.

TAMASIC FOOD:
Tamasic food are those which dull the mind and bring about inertia, confusion and disorientation
Example – Non vegetarian diet, stale food, excessive intake of fats, oil, sugary food, almond

Not just the right kind of food, it is vital to eat the proper quantity of food at the right time. Overindulging leads to lethargy while under eating will not provide enough nourishment. Most of the times we know that our stomach is full but tempted by the taste buds we tend to indulge. The right amount of food cannot be quantified into cups or grams, when we listen to our body attentively we will know when exactly to stop.

We might eat the right kind of food in the right quantity but if we are irregular with our timings then the whole system goes for a toss and the natural rhythm of the body is hampered. Therefore it is of prime importance to eat food at the same time everyday and eat it at regular intervals.

It is said that the state of the mind of the person cooking also affects the food. The energy in the food cooked by someone while they were angry will definitely be lower than that of someone who cooked it with a feeling of love, contentment and gratitude. Listening to some soothing music or chanting while cooking and eating can help retain the Prana (life force energy) in the food. If you have grudge against someone all the time, then your mind becomes so uptight, and it creates toxins. If you are feeling negative, then toxins increase. These toxins cause so many illnesses, including cancer. So, we should always keep our mind free, and that is why we forgive everyone, so that we can be at peace.

Yoga also prescribes a more personalized diet according to the nature of our constitution. Food that might be favorable for someone might be harmful for a person of another constitution. It is best to consult an Ayurvedic physician to decide what kind of food is necessary for you and which should be avoided. It is definitely worthwhile to pay some attention to the food that we eat as the ancient Indian texts say that we are what we eat.

Yoga:

“The word Yoga stems from the word ‘yuj’ meaning to unite or harmonize. When we do more yoga, we start getting more in touch with ourselves. As we get in touch with ourselves, we begin to experience joy. We are all different parts of the universe and we start experiencing this connection when we do yoga. That’s why yoga and meditation are relaxing,”

What is Yoga: Yoga is not mere acrobatics - it is a holistic approach of uniting the body, mind and spirit.
Yoga and yoga postures are beneficial as they bring a harmonious balance within your system. A state of total well-being is not just a healthy body, but a healthy mind and spirit too. Yoga works on all these facets.
With an aim to naturally rejuvenate an individual, by balancing the body, mind and spirit. The focus of Yoga practice is ‘balance’.
All ailments, diseases are manifestations of imbalances in the body. Ailments are the body's way of calling attention for 'more care'. Yoga and yoga postures provide simple and practical solutions to all your daily problems.
Physically, the yoga postures improve the flexibility of the muscles and the joints. They also massage the organs, thus improving their functionality. Yoga heals various chronic illnesses in a natural and simple way and also improves the body’s immunity.
Meditation being one of the main aspects of yoga, it's essential that you sit for meditation after practicing yoga and pranayama. In meditation one delves deep into the Self.
In an extremely subtle and effortless manner, yoga and yoga postures make you more contented and happy. Overall the body feels healthier and more energetic. It is less prone to diseases and effects of day-to-day stress. When the yoga poses are coordinated with the breath, the practice becomes effortless.

Soul, Humble Purpose, Sub-Conscious

Soul is referred here to the Sub-conscious mind.

This Subconscious mind can be Healed using the Consciousness, with Noble and Humble Objective.

By constantly following regular practices of principles which get converted to habits.

A good Soul is an instant and forever lasting pleasure, the good purpose to heal humanity and Mankind.

This Soul is valuable only when it is Constructive (Not Destructive).
