Desires. Temptations.

๐Ÿ™☀️๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ•‰๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Overcoming Temptation.

The old orthodox way
is to deny temptation.

To suppress it.

But we must learn
to control temptation.

To understand
how much provides healing.
As small amount of poison
becomes medicine.

It is not a sin to be tempted.

Even though we are
boiling with temptation.

We are not evil.

But if we yield to that temptation
we are caught temporarily
by the power of evil.

We must erect about ourself
protecting parapets of wisdom.

There is no stronger force
that can employ
against temptation than wisdom.

Complete understanding
will bring us to the point
where nothing can tempt us
to actions that promise pleasure.
But in the end will only hurt us.

Desire has not to be destroyed.

It has to be purified.

Desire has not to be dropped.

It has to be transformed.

Our very being is desire.

To be against it
is to be against ourself
and against all.

To be against
it is to be against the flowers
and the birds
and the sun
and the moon.

To be against it
is against all creativity.

Desire is creativity.

๐Ÿ™☀️๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ•‰๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Desire is a fundamental part
of being human.

And should not be eliminated.

But rather transformed
into a more constructive force.

Instead of trying to suppress
or destroy desires.

Which can lead to greater suffering.

The focus should be on purifying them.

By directing them towards higher goals.
Spiritual growth.
Or a greater purpose.

Learn from the past.
For it is gone from our domain.

Plan for the future.
For it is beyond our reach.

Control the present.

Live supremely well now.

It will whitewash the dark past.

And compel the future to be bright.

This is the way of the wise.
